Joel Gluck
Born in 1983, Joel Gluck is a star in the world of Judaic art. Raised in a Hasidic family, he is living the life of his paintings in the modern world of today. His deep conviction and love for his religion and way of life are reflected in his paintings.
Joel Gluck's paintings are a window to the life of Jews in the European shtetel. As he skillfully integrates his subjects into the background of his paintings, the deep luminescent colors of his palette bring to life the characters he portrays thereby producing a memorable work of art.
Joel Gluck comes from a family that has always appreciated art and artists. In fact, while still in Europe, many members of his family were known for their artistic talents and abilities. Even from a very young age, Joel’s early sketches, drawn from life, showed outstanding creativity and talent.
Joel Gluck has honed his innate artistic skills under the tutelage of contemporary artists such as the celebrated portrait artist Paul McCormack, president of the American China Oil Painting Artist League (ACOPAL), and Garin Baker, renowned Realist painter, muralist, and founder of Carriage House Art Studios.
His current project, a series of paintings depicting the picturesque streets and residents of Mea Shearim, was inspired by a recent visit to the historic neighborhood.
Joel currently resides in upstate NY with his beautiful family of 4 children and works as a full time artist.
